Letter #6

This week has been good but nothing too exciting! Tuesday we went to dinner with those Baptist people and it went good! They know a lot and have a ton of questions. They invited us back so we will see how that goes! The next day we had our lesson with Kenyon, who would be my favorite investigator if I could have one! He's just great and I really feel God's love for him!
We had Brother Condie come to the lesson with us. They just moved into the ward and he has been home from his mission like a couple months now. SO IT WAS A GREAT LESSON! He was saying what to say and asking commitment's he should ask and when the lesson would get off topic he'd bring it back. Wow that was amazing!

Our mission has asked us to OYM (Open Your Mouth) more, so Sister Backer and I walked around for 4 hours trying to find and talk to people! I  have sooo many blisters but its good ! :)

Thursday we got to go do service at a place called Loving Thunder! They have horses and guess what, its a place where special needs kids come to ride horses! ahhhhh it was great!!!! We got to groom them and I felt like the movie Dreamer :) haha

We met with Dennis twice this week and he is doing soooo good! Once he clears up word of wisdom, he's going to be set! I cant even begin to explain the change I've seen in him and wow how the light of Christ in him has grown! He's such an amazing man and I wish you all could meet him!

Elder Ah Loy (who went to Elk Ridge and Bingham) just got transferred to be assistant to the president so I am sad to see him leave our zone because its like a part of home leaving. But it will be okay! Other than that nothing too exciting this week! I'm still in love with my mission and even more my area! I hope I never leave star heights ward! ;) haha I love you all soooooo much! Thank you for everything!

With love from me to you,

Sister Markus

WOW this week was sooo good! So last Tuesday we went to the store to get our food, and I was about to pay for my food and this lady comes up and says she wants to buy mine and Sister Baker's food! Wow that was amazing! I really just felt Gods love then!

On Thursday we were OYM-ing (open your mouth) and just talking to random people. I felt like we should go to this one house and the lady answered! We told her who we were and then shes like  "do you want to come in?" haha YES, YES WE WOULD LOVE TO COME IN! haha so we sat down at the table with her and her new husband and we just talked. We talked about their faith and about ours and they said they were interested and we asked when we could come back and shes like, "want to come over for dinner Tuesday?" YES, YES WE WOULD LOVE THAT!!! holy cow that was amazing!

Then we saw this guy outside and talked to him and he's like, "yeah I know the sheep scripture, but I'm not interested". so we were like oh ok, and he kept saying "i wish i had something to give you guys" and we kept saying it was fine. Then we were half way down the street and he yells to us and he is running. That can not be a good sign, but when we turn around he gives us $20 and told us to go get something to eat. WHAT?! I think that was amazing because here is this man of a completely different faith helping out two Mormon missionaries. I think we can all learn from his example, not saying we need to just give money away, but love everyone no matter who they are!!

It was good talking to you guys on Skype. I was really really scared that it was going to make me home sick all over again, but I'm too in love with my mission now!! I'm in LOVE with my investigators! and i don't know how to explain it, but i want nothing more than for them to have the comfort and blessing of the gospel in their lives! think about when you were going through a really hard time, and you prayed and Heavenly Father helped you, comforted you. think of all the blessings and joy the gospel has brought in your lives. THESE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE THAT!!! AHHH that seriously kills me! So yes, i am loving my mission!!! hahah and i love you all soooo much! Thank you for the prayers, letters, EVERYTHING!!!!

With love form me to you,

Sister Markus :)

Letter #4

Sorry, I have to be done at 1:00 and it's 12:22, so I hope I can hurry and write this and everyone back! Man this week was HARD!!!! Yes, I called my mission president asking to call home, but it's amazing how inspired he really is. As much as I thought it would help he knew it wouldn't. I went on with my day and it was still hard. I have tried to talk more with my companion but its like talking to a wall. And we were at a member's house and she was making fun of how I was crying and how I wanted to call home. So that made me mad. But the members house we were at, she is over beehives i think, anyways, that night was Wednesday and for her activity she had her girls write me notes. and they were "open when" notes. So one said "open when you need hope". "open when you need wisdom". and there was one the read "open now". and wow its amazing at such a young age the testimonies of those girls. also, I felt like it was an answer to my prayers, like God was saying I hear you. you can do it. I'm not 100% feeling better but I'm getting there. my companion and I had a long talk and are getting along better!

I have an amazing district! Oh we got to go to the temple yesterday!!! :)
AHH the Lord knew when to send me to New Mexico because he knew by week 3 I needed to go to the temple. they only go twice a year! so that was awesome and the temple is usually closed Monday so it was just missionaries there. it was cool with a ton of missionaries there and thinking we are the Lords army and its was just powerful! then President Miller talked to us in a sealing room, THAT WAS AWESOME! I just am in love and addicted to the temple.

I think I told you about the Lockard family, Brother Lockard is the Ward mission leader! and they are like a second family! so it helps that he's awesome! we are teaching a lot of people! so hopefully soon they will progress more! Alos, I don't think I have ever biked/walked soo much in my life. and its weird because it has been raining here a lot! and so there have been times we are walking and biking in the rain/hail! But it all adds to the adventure. writing home is hard because I have to think about you all. not that i don't love you, but it's hard because then I miss everyone! So please keep me in your prayers! I LOVE you all!!!

With love from me to you,
Sister Markus :)
